The need for sexual content everywhere

Hello Bloggers and friends,

We live in a very sex addict world where even the most seemingly innocent movie has sexual content in it. This is a hugely growing problem in our world. My husband and I wanted to see a movie tonight at our local theatre and were severely disappointed that all but one movie had sexual content related material in their scenes. It's not just the actual sex scenes that I am getting at. It's all of the sexually related content that leads to the imagination that utterly bugs the crap out of me as well. It's crude content that don't fit in the movie's plot and it's scenes that we know were just thrown in there to boost the ratings.

For example, why does every movie have to have a hot seductively dressed actress in its casting? Women don't dress or act that way on a regular basis in real life. Why do their personalities have to either be like GI Jane or miss prissy? Really? I am a woman and I am neither of those roles. I keep sexy behind closed doors with my husband as I don't feel the need to flaunt everything I have to the world. Why actresses even agree to do these roles is confusing to me other than that they get paid for it. However, what happened to morals and values? Is this old fashioned as well? Apparently. I really got excited about going to the movies tonight and ended up disappointed and angry that our society has accepted this trash to be in movies and television shows.

I hate to sound like a "broken record" but NOT EVERYONE wants to have to put up with this content in almost everything. It is a turn off! Some people say, "well ignore it then" Well as time goes on, it's getting harder to ignore it because its in your face! In billboards, in daily conversations amongst strangers, on the internet one click away, in children rated movies like the smurfs or Rio. It's on television of shows young teens watch like Pretty little liars. Why would anyone even think of a title like that without having a sexual idea behind it? Pretty. Little. Liars. Sounds like a soft porn title. It's not something that can be just ignored because it's no longer just subtle sexual content like it is today. In every action movie these days there has to be a sexy actress and her either doing nude shots, or being seductive, or fighting seductively in scenes, or just being in your face. Honestly, I am visual and so are plenty of other people in our world, when seeing this stuff subtle or not, it leads to the imagination and creates curiousity.

Since the world has this corrupt saying that all men and women look and its okay for us to put this kind of content in all media...its now everywhere! I refuse to watch television because almost every channel has this smut on it like what's with the client list with Jennifer Love Hewitt? Really? I have never seen the show but the commercials are enough sexual explicit content and its not just aired on LMN (Lifetime movie network) it's also aired on the discovery channel for example. We've really gotten to this point. My fear is pretty soon we are going to start airing porn in broad daylight for free on cable television channels.

The world needs a rude awakening! Not all men and women look. There are actually good people out there that are faithful to their spouses and refuse to watch that as it's incredibly irritating. I hate how the world justifies what porn is. Uhm, porn is anything sexually related content whether it be nudity in a movie or a sex scene with audible and visuals. Porn is on different levels from soft to hardcore and just because its not hardcore (some movies such as recent action films have hardcore versions) doesn't mean it's not porn. Anything that has sexual content in it automatically leads to thoughts which eventually lead to action. For example what were the creators thinking when allowing Megan Fox to star in a child's movie "Transformers"? I hadn't known who she was until I did research and what popped up immediately in my research was pictures of her posing in the porn industries magazines such as Maxxim and Hustler. She had nude pictures to her in lingerie. Not to mention she shortly after starring in Transformers starred in Jennifer's Body as a seductive killer. (I hadn't seen the film but again the trailer was everywhere). Obviously casters realize that when they star an actress or an actor that those fans will look for other movies or television shows of their favorite star and watch that content as well. They realized that movies like Transformers, children watched those movies as they pulled the idea of remaking from the cartoons and comic books. My brothers who are younger than 14 (excluding my 19 yr old brother) watched transformers and some of their friends looked up Megan Fox and next thing you know they were hooked. I know some friends of mine that had young teens boys and they were hooked on porn because of that actress being in that movie. Not too mention there were some inappropriate scenes shot of her in both transformer movies.

We live in a world where everything is about the adult being entertained and we also live in a world where censorship is almost non existent. Love has turned into lust and confused with love. Our children are experimenting at an even earlier age and men are consumed by justifying their actions. It's not only women that hate how the world is sex crazy; I know some men that feel the same way.

We are really living in the end days and satan is doing EVERYTHING in his power to destroy what God created and intended. It's FACT. I plan on keeping my family safe as possible. We won't justify what's bad. We won't have cable television. We will pick family safe movies even if that means we resort to some old films. Nothing is safe anymore when it comes to family centered films especially.

That's my ranting. Thanks.

My brother David :)

Hello Fellow bloggers and friends,

I am still up yes; however, I was really busy today that I couldn't make time to make my brother his "greenie" cupcakes. Of course, I volunteered to make them and don't regret it.
So. My brother David who is the third oldest of my siblings (me, being the oldest) will leave for his mission in a few days.
I am so proud of him. Colorado Springs, Colorado will be even more blessed to have a special spirit as his join their mission for 2 years. David has a keen spirit and has always been this way. Even when he was challenging growing up. David has a way with people; it's really his spirit. I know he'll bring those that are ready to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ unto Christ because David is accepting toward everyone.
He doesn't see the need in judging others and he is willing to learn. Which is good because he'll be in constant contact with Heavenly Father on his mission.
I look forward to writing him on his mission and sending him care packages from time to time. I also look forward to hearing how his mission is going and whatnot.

Tomorrow we are having his farewell party and it really doesn't feel like a farewell because we all know we will see David again. We know him helping move forward the Lord's work is very important and we are willing to share him with others for 2 years.
2 years seems like a long time...however, it will go by quickly.
I will take pictures of his "greenie" cupcakes and post them up as soon as I can. The idea to have a greenie theme came from my mom in law. It really is a good idea.

Well, I am going to bed now. Good night everyone!

Until next time,

A&G

P.s. While David is on his mission we will keep you all updated as to how he is doing and whatnot. :)

We l♥ve rain!

Hello Bloggers and Friends,

Last night gave an epic of all storms we've heard in a while. It literally stormed from 1AM till about 7:30AM. Thunder that shook the house, lightning, wind, heavy rain, at some point there was hail or giant rain drops, and tossing and turning! I like storms...I just don't like storms that are right over the house to the point where the thunder is extra loud and extra "I'm going to shake the house" and the lightning was intense along with it. I am grateful my husband was there with me to comfort me. He knows I don't like those kind of storms.

I am grateful for the rain though. Plenty of people complain when we get rain; however, I am not typically that kind of person. We needed rain. Rain nourishes our plants, trees, grass, flowers, even animals and other critters! They all need to survive as well. It would be selfish of me to want nothing but sunshine all the time. Of course that's my opinion. The birds outside are chirping away and they seem happy. :)

Sometimes, if I am lucky and outside, I can catch the birds bathing in a puddle and it was one of the cutest things! Last time I saw it and I didn't have  a camera with me. Next time I will try to have a camera on me so I can post the picture on here.

Yesterday was a pretty crafty day for me, I started painting an old shelf we hadn't used in quite some time. We were going to throw it away; but, I looked at another blog and received inspiration. She is a homemaker like me and lives off a small budget. She found things around her house that she didn't particularly use anymore, instead of throwing it away she revamped and decorated it and used it for something else! Anything from old door knobs to use as towel hangers in the bathroom to redecorating an old chandolier.
I am painting this old black shelf turqoise green and very light country brown. I plan on using it in the bathroom for shelves. So far it is pretty darn cute. Andrew came through and saw it, he asked, "are you trying to make it look vintage?" I said no. Why? And he said, "it looks that way because of the paint strokes.." I felt complimented. I am not really a painter and to hear that from him made me feel glad. He said it looked good! I think from this point I will try to revamp things from this point on and not give up on a paint brush. :) I am using acrylic paint. It seems to spread well and dry quickly!
I am excited to post the finished product here soon. :)

I am thinking about writing short stories here on this blog and selling them for a small price. I love writing and have thought about writing another novel...however, I haven't had much luck on ideas...I have started and than stopped writing it several times. This just tells me that I am not yet ready to write another novel. I wrote my first novel when I was in 10th grade. I had the splendid opportunity of reading it to my whole 10th grade class, giving assignments on it, signing the copied scripts, and giving a test on it. :) I am thankful my English teacher gave me that wonderful opportunity to shine. :) I should get in touch with her again. It's been years. I am not sure though how I would sell my short stories. Google seems to have a way, I just wonder how that works. I have never done something like this before.

Anyhoo, I'll get to have my nephew who is nine months old over for a few days. It'll be nice to have a baby over. We've had our 3 year old niece and nephew (twins) over the past few days and it's been a challenge and fun at the same time.
I am ready for vacation next week though. I need to get away from my usual locality and travel somewhere else. Hopefully we will get to sightsee through some historical places, maybe we'll get to eat somewhere historical as well like the Whistle Stop restaurant. I went there once with an old friend of mine. We went on a date and their food was good! :) A bit pricey but for homecooked country food, it was worth it. Apparently, for the movie Elizabethtown, that's where they shot a scene was at the Whistle Stop.

Today is supposed to rain again which is fine with me. Water everything so we don't have to! I am glad school is out till June but at the same time I miss learning a lot of things at once. In the Summer I plan on taking a self defense class at my college. I definitely look forward to this! Andrew is encouraging me to take it and I am glad.
I should eat breakfast now and start on my housework and project! I hope you all have a great weekend and it's Cinco De Mayo...maybe I will get lucky and hear some Mexican Music today.

Stay tuned till next time,

Untitled on purpose :)

Hello Everyone,

I never know what to name the title of these entries...so I chose to name it like this on purpose. Sometimes there is inspiration to name it a certain way, others there isn't. It's really the way of life. :)

I had another blog previously; but, I created a new email account and I couldn't figure out how to change the email address settings on my previous blog. So, I decided to stop fooling with it and delete everything along with my previous email address. Thanks for your understanding.

I have big plans for this blog. I love blogging! I never thought in my life I would ever say that or in fact blog. I love it. It's really a strike of geneous. Since I am a homemaker now and have no other job...this has sort of become a hobby of mine. I am not addicted...yet. :)

I love to write so you may find that some of my entries may be long...if you're patient you'll read every word. If not, to each their own.

A little bit about me...let's see. I am married to my best friend Andrew and we will be married in October 2 years. It does NOT feel like it has been that long. We have no children yet and it's not in the cards for any time soon. I am a college student and I am aspiring to become an RN. Right now I am knocking out my Prereqs...I have a while to go. I am a retired military brat and I am the oldest of a large family. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and don't put me being a part of a large family and being Mormon together....I am a convert and it was one of the best decisions I made so far in my life. Amazing how prayer works. The large family thing happened before we became members. :) It's a common misconception. Uhm. I am not too girly but not too much of a tomboy. I consider myself in the middle of the two.
For hobbies, I enjoy writing, scrapbooking, blogging, making things such as restoring things I can use again, reading, sightseeing, traveling, learning new languages (I've mastered German), being outdoors, and gardening...that's just naming a few things x3.
Andrew and I enjoy the outdoors mostly together like shooting and hiking. Next week, I will get to try propelling/rock climbing for the first time. I am stoked!

Anyhoo. I hope you will strive to get to know me as I consider myself an awesome person with flaws! But we all have flaws. A lot of people say I am interesting...that's enough convincing ey? I could go on and on about me as I am sure you can as well. I plan on updating this thing everyday if I can and sharing a piece of me and my personality if I can. I am thinking about sharing recipes, writing short stories, and whatnot...so stay tuned.

Have a great weekend everyone and it's Cinco De Mayo somewhere! :)
